Batten Down the Hatches!

Hurricane Sandy has decided to pay us a visit so today the rain is coming down in torrents, the wind is whistling, and the trees keep pruning themselves of their branches and showers of acorns. I'm sure the squirrels will be delighted with the bumper crop once the storm passes. Callie and I went up to the state park to check in on the Bay Saturday before the storm arrived. She was not particularly happy with the wind and the sound of the waves or the narrow beach, but I loved the electricity in the air. So did this windsurfer.
Lest we forget hurricanes are serious business here on the coast, the state park has prestaged heavy earth moving equipment to deal with the aftermath of beach erosion.
