A very dear friend and I have traded a friendship ball back and forth for years. Ours is a brass ball with star cutouts and a hinged top and could probably double as a potpourri hanger. We usually tuck something small inside and off it goes in the mail to the other person. Eventually it finds its way back. I've lost track as to how long we have been exchanging the ball, but this time I was coming up empty on ideas.
One day an email arrived in my inbox offering a free drawstring bag class from Craftsy.com and voila an idea was hatched! I can't say I followed the video directions exactly, but the bag is made from some hand-dyed fabric and a piece of deconstructed screen printing from a project our art group did a while ago. I tucked the ball inside the bag and wrapped up the box, all of which is now on the way to Massachusetts.
The Craftsy "platform" was very easy to follow, especially since I could view it on my iPad right next to the sewing machine. Oh, and the free part was great marketing - I've since bought a Craftsy class with Jane Dunnewold on fabric dyeing.
