I'm not really a knitter but each winter, for some unknown reason, I find I want to make toasty scarves. My project this year is to make 10 scarves for the homeless shelter. I'm just finishing up #10 this week.
The playing around with different groupings of colors and textures appeals to me the most. Sometimes I will rip out what I've started and begin again with a different combination of yarns or different sized needles. My preferred method is to combine three different yarns and use either #19 or #35 needles, especially since I found shorter #35 needles. The long ones are a bit like trying to knit with broomsticks.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to knit up all the leftover bits of yarn together. Oh, an added bonus - it keeps my hands out of the cookie jar in the evenings.
