Step back, back to 1684 and the Goose & Bull Tavern in Port Royal, Jamaica. Wouldn't you know a shipload of pirates has just arrived in town with gold to spend at their favorite watering hole. In a few short hours they consumed 7 gallons of gin, 3 gallons of dark rum, and 3 gallons of rum punch.
Ok... so it was water, iced tea, and Gatorade... and it was really a living history at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum... but I'm told the display was museum quality. Maybe it really was Port Royal not Ports Mouth.
