We have four highbush blueberry bushes in our backyard - courtesy of friends who used to have Paradise Nursery. They are my husband Al's pride and joy. Nothing tastes better than fresh blueberries right off the bush, and they are especially sweet and tasty this year because it has been so dry. span>
Al had to construct a cage with netting over it around the blueberry bushes. Partly to keep the birds away, but mostly to keep Saffron from eating them. She discovered early on that she didn't need to wait for her bi-peds to pick the scrumptious berries for her. She could harvest them herself right off the bush! So now the bushes are off limits to all except the creature who can open the netting. But, Al does share with her. Even sprinkles some on her kibble breakfast.Ummm, nothing like fresh blueberries!
