Artful Women Retreat

This past weekend my talented art group went on a retreat at the beach. How appropriate that our house was named "The Great Escape." I believe it was Twyla Tharp who said something like art is the only way to run away without leaving home. So 7 of us packed up a ton of art supplies, another ton of food and wine, and after setting up our altar to the muses made fat books, round robin ATC's, and shrinky pins. We watched Andy Goldworthy's Rivers and Tides, and another movie Herb and Dorothy, about a couple of non-traditional art collectors. Besides all that and eating well, we experimented with Solvy and a bunch of leftover yarns from our resident weaver. A windy walk on the beach yielded up some more treasures for our altar. We didn't finish the banner so you'll have to come back yet again to see that!
