Making Art in Panic Mode

My art making ability has been immobilized by grief, despair, and more grief over the past couple of weeks. Then I was driven by the thought, "what if my creativity dries up when Saffron's not here?" So in a desparate attempt to feel like I could still function as an artist I threw together this cereal box collage with pieces from my art group's swap. Its not great, but I got it accomplished while our princess was still alive. She always used to curl up on the kitchen floor at my feet by my art table and keep me company. Yesterday I had to settle for her being nearby in the dining room, but I felt her spirit and worked anyway. Hopefully the flood gates are now open and much better things will come.

  1. The brilliance of the colors you've worked into this piece are gorgeous and the painted with the photo works so well...it's lovely...keep working...see what comes next...and next.
