On a recent visit to the southern Outer Banks we discovered the Pea island Art Gallery on Highway 12 in Salvo, North Carolina. From the moment we saw the wildflower garden out front and met the owner, Kim Robertson, we knew this was going to be a fun experience.
Kim has a great eye (well, she is an artist herself) and was so cordial we felt right at home, and wanted to take our time looking at EVERYTHING in the gallery. She really knows her artists and was able to tell us more about each of the ones whose work grabbed us. Of course several pieces just had to come home with us. And another neat plus, the building replicates the architecture of the old life saving stations on the Outer Banks. Add this to your must see list if you are in the area.
Looks like a great spot and such a doable daytrip...hope you'll also share photos of your treasures in an upcoming post.
