Artist Trading Cards

I mentioned the group of amazing women artists that meet monthly before. These ladies are a continual source of inspiration and motivation, and one of the ways we challenge ourselves is to do a project that we share with each other at the meetings. Our last project was to create Artist Trading Cards to swap.
Like most artists I have a difficult time getting rid of anything that could potentially be used in a future project, so I've amassed quite a collection of "schnitzels" (my Mother's term) of fabric. Little bits that are too precious to throw away-especially since they are hand-dyed and manipulated. So I stitched the bits and pieces together to make business-card sized trading cards. It was great fun and a good exercise in color, design, and sewing. And I still have bits left over to be recycled yet again!

  1. Carol,
Your Schnitzels are wonderful! They are all so beautiful and each tells a story. Thanks for sharing.
