Several friends and I have been planning a trip to Mexico for about a year. As we were packing our bags and getting ready to board a plane the weather people announced MORE snow and cold temperatures (as if we haven't had enough already). So, in an attempt to not feel guilty about leaving my husband behind in the midst of all this nasty winter weather I made a new table runner for the coffee table in the living room.
Like most fabric artists I can't ever throw all those scraps of leftover fabric away. My bag of what my Mother called "schnitzels" was getting so packed I was having trouble closing the drawer it lives in. The finished piece measures 16.5" x 24.5" and used up a lot of those scraps. The center is a solar print of a piece of coral given to us by a friend. I don't know if it is as cheerful as the sunny, 82 degree weather in Mexico but it certainly brightens up the living room.
