We traveled to Fairfax County Park for their first Pirate Fest. It was a fabulous day!
Since we took the whole show on the road it was "pirate tetris" loading up the 8 foot trailer. There is still more to add and there wasn't a square inch of unused space when Tiny, our fabulous packer finished.
The visitors were interested and interesting, asking great questions.
Tiny explains how navigation worked prior to GPS.
Miss Janet is the games mistress.
Of course it is always the shiny things that captivate the audience. Headshot is only too happy to explain the ins and outs of state-or-the-art single fire weapons.
The quartermaster fills in at the C Dog Tavern so Sweet Caroline can use that funny box to capture pictures.
Malyson Haight explains about daily life on land.
Medical personnel from two different centuries meet as our ship's surgeon talks to modern fire/rescue.
All too soon the event was over. Then we had to drop the tents and pack up everything. Back in the trailer it went for the trip home. Next time we'll get a 12 foot trailer!
