Moody Crewe Pirates Take Kiptopeke!

We spent a beautiful weekend at Kiptopeke State Park on the Eastern Shore this past weekend. Al and I went up on Friday night and were fortunate to be there during the "Harbor for the Arts" festival in Cape Charles. We were able to catch part of the performance by Okyerema Asante, a drummer from Ghana. Al took a great picture of the drummer with his phone, but the phone won't give it up.
Our display was set up by the fishing pier.

The remains of the World War II concrete ships were right behind us. With the vegetation growing on the ships they look like an old Caribbean fort.

Saturday night at 7:30 we did a campfire program - with S'mores provided by our hosts Will and Rebecca.

We took turns telling stories and singing shanties. Al started us out, and by the time the program was over we had attracted a fun audience of 86 campers!

Beautiful location for the lodge.
