Sunrise for Saffy
Tuesday morning, one week from Saffron's passing, we took her ashes down to her favorite beach at sunrise. We scattered them along the wrack line, which was her favorite place to sniff and explore, along with rosemary whose floral meaning denotes remembrance. We also had a long forgotten bit of sand from the mandala the Drepung Loseling monks made at the American Theatre, so we sprinkled that into the water for global healing. Saffron was an inate healer so she would have liked that, too. I know she is once again young, pain-free, happy and playing to her hearts content, but we certainly miss her sweetness. She will always be the "wompie-fooful-est" in our hearts.

A wonderful tribute to her beautiful soulful self.
ReplyDeleteThe photograph is stunning.
Funny...I visited this post last week and left a comment. I was struck by the beauty of your words and the ceremonial manner in which you paid homage to your sweet girl.
ReplyDeleteEvidently some bugaboo kept that comment from making its way to your post...so here we are again.
